Introduction
This course discusses two simple, practical, and complemental tools for problem solving : the 5-Whys (aka as Why-Why) for determining root cause of a problem and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) aimed at preventing failures. Concepts and tools are applied through a series of workshops addressing specific work problems of the participants.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the training, participants shall be able to:
- Understand the problem and causes of failures
- Learn the benefits of using the 5-Whys tool in problem-solving
- Understand and apply the 5-Whys tool and its variants
- Describe what the FMEA approach is, its benefits, and when to use it
- Define how FMEA helps identify risks, prioritize risks relative to one another, and focus efforts on an action plan to manage the risks
- Learn the different FMEA types
- Understand and apply the FMEA process to any of the FMEA types
Who Should Attend
Anyone who desires to use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros to create automated tasks/functions within MS Excel workbooks.
